CYO Dress Code

Dress Code in Effect for All Elks Functions

Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538 is proud to uphold high standards as a flagship lodge—not just another “bar or club.” To maintain the integrity and tradition of our Lodge, we have a dress code in effect at all Elks functions.

While most of the time attire may be casual, more relaxed clothing—such as Bermuda or cargo shorts—is allowed after 6:00 PM, except on Thursday Lodge Night, when the dress code is strictly enforced.

General Dress Code Guidelines:

  • No mid-thigh, cutoffs, short-shorts, or torn/frayed clothing.
  • Pants must be worn at the waist—no sagging or “plumber pants.”
  • No sweat suits or beachwear.
  • No rubber-style flip-flops (shower shoes); sandals are acceptable.

For Ladies:

  • No inappropriate or revealing tops.
  • No dresses or skirts shorter than mid-thigh.

For Men (After 6:00 PM on Thursday & Friday):

  • Collared shirts are required.
  • No muscle shirts, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts.
  • No T-shirts or hats with vulgar or inappropriate language or logos.
  • No gang attire.
  • Pants must be worn at the waist—no sagging.
  • Hats must be worn properly (not backwards or sideways) and should be removed while seated at the table to eat.

Please Note:

We ask that all Members and guests respect the dress code and cooperate with our Greeters, Officers, and Staff. They are enforcing the House Rules, and any arguments or disrespect will result in denial of entry.

“Our Greeters, Staff, and Officers do not wish to embarrass or upset any Member or guest, so please do not put them in that position. We will ask you to leave to change. Members, remind your guests that you are responsible for them!”

🔴 Reminder:

All persons attending Friday Night Cook Your Own (CYO) must be over 21 years of age.
